Wow, that looks good. I have not thought of using nutella on S'mores. I've used the standard hunk of chocolate but it never seems to melt well, good idea! My mom works for Ferrero Canada and oversees the production of roasting/grinding the hazelnuts. She probably watched the nuts go by that went into your treat.
Randy - I do enjoy the occasional chocolate bar so I won't argue with you there.
Dan - I know what you mean, which is why I switched to nutella. That's so cool that your mom works for Ferrero! Hopefully she keeps your stocking stuffed with amazing goodies during Christmas.

And reading your history, it is so exciting that you were able to move to a place where you can really have room to grow what you want. We've been in an apartment for years, but are hopeful. I'll be back!
I go on a group camping trip most years with some friends. Our s'mores this year were homemade pizzelles, nutella and marshmallows. I confess to not being a s'mores fan. I just ate the plain pizzelles and was quite happy. Usually we just have the traditional graham crackers, Hershey's bars (ick) and marshmallows, so it was quite a treat.
Beautiful, evocative pictures, Thomas, the glowing coals in the background...I'm unlikely ever to eat a smore, since I lack the sweet tooth gene (not, as you know, the Dorito tooth, though, sigh) - but I've never been more tempted.
We have never tried smores! We have only heard of them through American cartoons. Must give them a try, I assume our digestive biscuits will do the trick. Lovely little Blog post Thomas.

I've spent most of life living (and breathing) in what my not-so distant ancestors would have considered a foreign concrete jungle. For years, I've daydreamed about quieter places and greener spaces. I guess I've gotten to a point now where I feel as though it's time to stop imagining and start making things happen. I'm hoping that this blog will become a not-so-serious account of my efforts to be a little more zen (in the non-vitamin water sense).
In less then a month (now being July 2, 2009), me and my lot will be moving ourselves to greener pastures (a half of an acre of green to be exact). Soon I'll finally be able to dig that vegetable garden I've been daydreaming about for too long now (and to bake a loaf of bread or two). Wish me (us) luck!

Guilty of roasting marshmellows over a candle, thats what happens when kids get bored after school and want a snack. :)
I should clarify, that is what I did after school as a kid with friends, not what I allow my little one's to do.
